When we first met with Ashley and Rory, they were busy planning the details of their destination wedding all the way from Boston. We fondly remember how Ashley knew exactly what she wanted from the moment we first spoke over the phone. Urban, refined, elegant and industrial, our Creative Team was up to the task to design a one of a kind space with a little something special to bring to life the unique vision of our clients for their upcoming wedding day.

The more we spoke with Ashley and Rory about their wedding day, the more we began to know our clients both individually and as a couple, and by the time they flew in to meet with us for a venue walk through, the design for their wedding day began to formally take shape. Complete with elements of metallic geometrics inspired by Ashley, an interior designer, and a plethora of textural autumn foliage inspired by Rory, a scientist, the final design for our couple’s wedding day transcended the boundaries of style in a way which could not have represented the union of our two clients more perfectly.

With a vast loft space featuring elevated ceilings and a wall of breathtaking windows, our Creative Team devised a plan to use the space for the ceremony, while heightening the drama for the transformation to the reception. Orienting the ceremony to provide optimal lighting, Ashley and Rory were set on using Drapery to frame the importance of their ceremony and create an intimate, warm and welcoming space with our double panel backdrop.

Accented with lush smilax vines and textural arrangements with sword fern and kangaroo paw, our Creative Team brought in much needed color and depth into the vastness of the space. Nestled below and providing a sense of place at the top of the aisle, we combined geometric gold mercury glass candle holders and lush greenery, grounding the space in rich burgundy tones and bold textures to pop against the whitewashed walls and crystal chandeliers.

No matter how many times we work with our clients, there will be always something special about the way a bride smiles on her wedding day, and Ashley’s radiant smile was no exception. Remarkable from head to toe in a complete restyling of her mother’s vintage wedding gown, our Creative Team was eager to fulfill Ashley’s request of honoring her mom by incorporating a piece of lace around the handle of her bridal bouquet from her mother’s original wedding gown.

Complimenting the rich textures and saturated colors, the lace draped over the satin handle perfectly accenting the opulent assortment of protea, garden roses, lollipop grevillea and nandina foliage. Needless to say, anyone who sees Ashley’s fulfilled vision for her bridal bouquet, as the centerpiece for her wedding day, will know it was everything and then some, seconded only by the way she smiled while holding it down the aisle.

Using elements inspired by Ashley’s bouquet and a request for the non-traditional, our Creative Team designed boutonnieres and bridesmaid bouquets with a range of contrasting burgundy and cream tones from kangaroo paw and lollipop grevillea, which provided the finishing touch to the cohesive ensemble of the bridal party’s gray suits and flowing burgundy dresses.

After the conclusion of a ceremony intertwined with family and tradition which would make any heart skip a few beats, our Creative Team transformed the space from ceremony to reception with a focus on organic greenery, romantic candlelight and bold geometric detail. Mirroring elements from the ceremony, our Creative Team used our gold geometric mercury glass candle holders and smilax greenery, accented with our custom gold frame table numbers, handcrafted for our couple by our Creative Team to allow the candlelight to pronounce the shape of the elegant cursive font. Completing the design, fruitwood chiavari chairs and crisp white linens, complimented by our gold standard chargers, made the space urban, eclectic and trendy, yet remained timeless, elegant and refined.

Dancing the night away amid the crystal chandeliers and candlelight, Ashley and Rory’s wedding day was one filled with love, family and a touch of their Irish heritage. From the music, to the family tradition of a September wedding, Ashley and Rory’s wedding day is one which will not be soon forgotten.
